Training can be used to teach a new salesperson hard skills such as the processes and procedures of the organization, as well as the soft skills such as how to negotiate and generate leads. Training can also be used for experienced current employees when teaching new skills, processes, and product information.
In this assignment, imagine that your current training is weak and inconsistent, which resulted in high turnover of sales representatives. Using the information from your project, think about how would you mold your ideal salesperson with training and develop an effective training plan for new hires and current representatives. Some items that you may consider are:
How would you set up training?
Would it be classroom or Web based?
How long, and how consistent would the training be?
Your training plan may include, but may not limited to:
Procedures, processes, and protocol.
New hire training.
Product training for example, provide a description of what it would consist of.
Your training plan should be presented as if you were presenting it to your boss, in a memo format. You may also use PowerPoint if you prefer to do a presentation.
